PAC Acting with Dr Michael McCall

This 6 week workshop offers practical insights and acting techniques tailored to the needs of individuals seeking to develop a solid approach to acting with text and those looking to refresh and expand upon their performance skills. Taught by actor/director Dr. Michael McCall who has worked for 25 years as a teaching artist for various schools including NIDA, WAAPA, Bell Shakespeare. Whether early in your acting journey or in need of a revitalising experience, these 3-hour weekly workshops are ideal for you. The course includes exercises of significant acting methodologies and applies them to monologues and scenes that will be presented and critiqued in class. This will ensure that by the end of the course you have developed a toolkit that will provide a solid foundation of acting choices and approaches for any performance or audition scenario. Held weekly on Thursday evenings in Scarborough PAC Acting is suitable for those 16 years and older who want to expand their creativity in a supportive and fun environment. Michael is an Honours graduate of Curtin University (1997), as well as a graduate of the NIDA Acting Course. He completed a Masters in film and television directing and screenwriting at the WA Screen Academy (2008-09) and  a PhD in Performing Arts at WAAPA. Michael has worked variously as a teaching artist for universities (Curtin, ECU), drama academies (NIDA, WAAPA), acting agencies (RGM/Actors Management, Actors Now), theatre companies (Bell Shakespeare, Black Swan, Barking Gecko) and other programs from Perth to Sydney to New York. Michael has extensive credits as an actor for both stage and screen as well as director, actor, producer, writer, and script editor/dramaturg.
