A one day masterclass with award winning stage & screen actor and acting coach Caroline Brazier
About the Tutor: An acting graduate of NIDA with 30 years of industry experience, Caroline has taught acting at NIDA, Screenwise, WAAPA, The Actors Centre and has been the acting coach on HOME AND AWAY. She is well known for her screen roles as Rake's wife on the TV series Rake, as well as Packed to the Rafters and has performed with all major theatre companies in Australia recently with Sydney Theatre Co.
About the Course:
Through a structured series of practical exercises this PAC Advanced Masterclass will inspire participants and extend their technique to improve their approach to their acting. This masterclass is designed for those who have had some previous acting training or experience and who want to learn and improve their practice for either stage or screen. It is also ideal for actors who want to re-boot and re-calibrate their acting technique.
Caroline's style as a coach, first and foremost, is to empower the actor. Your time together will be an opportunity for the actor to really claim the work, to dis-obligate from notions of being 'right' and connect to the higher purpose of being truly authentic. Often when actors are presented with a scene, or an audition, they can become consumed with getting it right, with being perfect, with being approved of--- with getting the job!
What Caroline endeavours to do is create a space together, where more than anything else, you are able to GET IT TRUE. She does this through personalising, improvising around the material, giving different given circumstances and obstacles to play, and a number of tools she has acquired through 30 years as a working actor, and an instinctual response to what is going to work best for each individual she coaches.
Caroline will help actors perform in their own voice and support the work with their own truth. The task of the actor is to make words on a page sound like they are coming from a real, lived, experience. In order to make words live, we need to give them a heart, and it is the actor's own heart that performs that magic trick.Through Caroline's coaching in this one day masterclass, the actor is emboldened to breathe their own particular flavour of LIFE into the dialogue on a page.

This course is suitable for adult actors (16 +years) who have some previous training or experience. It will run from 9:30am- 5pm on Saturday 24th October at Scarborough Leisure Centre, Gildercliffe St, Scarborough. Numbers are strictly limited so apply now.
