See what some of our graduates have to say below about our courses...
"Thank you very much for letting me participate in PAC Screen Workshop. The priceless conventions you taught me will never be forgotten, as they are the fundamentals in making a successful film. I now have a stronger network system and I look forward to working with my fellow PAC friends."
"I started doing screen workshops with Annie as a teenager and still always relish the chance to have a refresher class when in town. Whilst on tour in Perth with Wicked the musical, a group of my fellow cast members and I had a wonderful and insightful time brushing up on our screen acting skills with a tailor made series of workshops Annie put together and taught us."
"I came out of class feeling inspired. It's amazing, you know... I've been doing PAC Screen Workshops fairly constantly for going on five years, and I'm still learning stuff that I know is making me a better film maker."
“I remember sitting in my first PAC class with sweaty palms. It was a big step for me to take control and pursue my love of acting. I realized very quickly that I’d found the safest place to begin to play. Working with Annie made me realize that acting is a profession to be proud of. She made me see that if I was to commit to a life of being an actor I must never stop practicing my craft. Actors should continually desire to hone their skills. PAC Screen Workshops were ideal in helping me look at the craft from different angles and reminded me to keep the fun alive.”
''PAC screen workshops were my sole introduction to screen acting and film-making; Annie Murtagh-Monks is absolutely one of the most talented and inspiring screen drama teachers in the country.''
"PAC Screen Workshop provides the most vibrant meeting & learning place for WA's independent film makers that I know. By participation in these now legendary courses, I was opened to many techniques upon which I continue to base my directorial approach. It is an environment that breeds a prolific, motivated attitude, guiding participants to output their ideas with great confidence by a detailed understanding of screen performance. If Annie ran them here in London or Mumbai, I'd still go! They're superb!”
“I first met Annie when Lucy Durack organised some group classes when we were in Perth with Wicked back in 2011. It was so wonderful to work with the cast on different material and Annie makes the environment open and relaxed! I loved the classes so much that when I was back in Perth again, I emailed Annie for some private lessons to help me with my new character I was about to play. Annie makes you feel safe, comfortable and not afraid to try anything. She has such a wealth of knowledge and understanding for the craft, so I was soaking it all up like a sponge. Not only does she help you with deep character analysis but she also helps you to look into yourself which is an amazing tool for unlocking what's within and being able to grow not only as an actor but as a person too.”
"Not only were PAC Screen Workshops my introduction to film making, but almost a decade on, I still regularly collaborate with a number of filmmakers & actors I met in the workshops, whom I now call my closest friends, including my film partner, Stevie Cruz-Martin. PAC Screen Workshops create such an incredible space to experiment, learn & grow within a supportive community of like-minded peers. I would heartily recommend the workshops to all emerging filmmakers & actors."
"I reckon PAC Screen Workshops are essential for directors to spot and work with a whole heap of the up and coming Perth acting talent. The workshops serve as great practice for sharpening your skills as a director without the normal pressures that can distract you when you are actually shooting for real. You can try out all your crazy ideas you’re not completely sure about as a test run."
"PAC Screen Workshops really helped me develop as an actor. They taught me the tools I needed to access my emotions and how to develop different characters...I'm so thankful I found out about PAC Screen Workshops when I did. Working with Annie Murtagh-Monks and Ross Hutchens was a true blessing and I would recommend PAC courses to anyone who is serious about getting into the film industry."
